Steep Slope Mowing & Land Clearing
When other contractors say it cannot be done, call us. Our remote-controlled tracked flail mower is built for extreme slopes and difficult terrain, working safely on ground up to 60 degrees while the operator stays off the machine.
Benefits of Steep Slope Mowing
Safely mow and clear slopes up to 60 degrees with our purpose-built tracked machine — low centre of gravity, wide tracks, and serious slope stability
Remote-controlled operation keeps our operator safely off the slope and out of the danger zone, removing the rollover risk of ride-on mowers and tractors
Access steep gullies, creek banks, ridgelines, dam batters, and embankments where wheeled machinery simply cannot operate safely
Minimal ground disturbance — the tracked system spreads weight evenly and prevents the rutting and erosion that heavier machines cause on slopes
Experienced operators who understand the unique challenges of South East Queensland hillsides, escarpments, and acreage blocks
Fully insured for steep terrain work, with operators trained in slope safety and the right machine for the conditions
Our Process
From first contact to completed project, here's how we deliver exceptional results
Terrain Assessment
Detailed slope analysis
We evaluate slope angles, ground stability, and access, identify hazards like rock and hidden wire, and determine the safest approach for the machine.
Safety Planning
Risk mitigation strategy
We plan machine positioning, operator vantage points, and exclusion zones. Remote operation means our operator works from stable ground above or beside the slope.
Slope Mowing
Methodical precision work
The tracked flail mower works systematically across the contours, cutting and mulching grass, weeds, and scrub. Its low centre of gravity keeps it stable on extreme slopes.
Erosion-aware Finish
Stable, tidy result
Mulch is left across the slope to protect exposed soil and slow water flow. We leave the ground stable, even, and far easier to maintain going forward.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the maximum slope you can work on?
Our tracked slope mower works safely on slopes up to 60 degrees. For anything beyond that we can often work from above or recommend an alternative approach.
How do you prevent erosion on slopes?
We leave the mulched material across the slope to protect the soil surface and slow water runoff, and we avoid disturbing the ground beneath, so root systems stay intact.
Can you access properties with poor access?
Our tracked machine can cross rough ground and tracks to reach work areas that trucks and wheeled equipment cannot. We assess access as part of the quote.
Will the machine damage my hillside?
No. The tracked system spreads weight over a large area for very low ground pressure, which prevents the rutting and compaction that heavier machinery causes on slopes.
How is it safe on such steep ground?
The machine is remote-controlled, so the operator never sits on it — they work from stable ground nearby. Combined with its low centre of gravity and wide tracks, this removes the rollover risk that makes steep slopes so dangerous for ride-ons and tractors.
Is steep terrain work more expensive?
Difficult terrain takes more time and specialised equipment, so it is typically 20-40% more than flat ground. In many cases we are the only contractor able to do the job at all.
What about gullies and creek banks?
Steep gullies and creek banks are a speciality. We mow and mulch the vegetation while keeping the bank intact and stable.
What if only part of my property is steep?
That is common. We combine slope mowing with standard flail mowing on the flatter sections and give you a clear quote covering both.
